Welcome to my new readers and welcome back to the rest of you. It has been an intense couple of weeks for me, with some travel and other writing commitments. I was going to hurry the next post, but skipping one week will actually wrap up my first year of writing this Substack with another Thanksgiving, so I gave myself permission to just offer my apologies if anyone even noticed the lack of this weekʻs installment.
A self-portrait and other art I made the last weekend of October 2015. Enjoy the power of All Saints All Souls Halloween.
In the meantime, I have a bunch of new subscribers who might be needing a week to catch up. So here is what the “welcome email” for new subscribers looks like, with a list of what I have written to date. I added the years to the list below in case that is helpful to anyone.
Mostly these are installments of memoir, from a pivotal time in my mid-thirties to early forties. I only recently learned that apparently in Jungian psychology this is actually a thing. A time in oneʻs life, beginning around age 37, that brings transition.
There are a few essays and one poem thrown in. I was originally planning to write only 1992-1994, but admittedly that ended on a cliffhanger. I do plan to end with 1997 and take my writing in another direction. Stay tuned!
And if somehow you ended up here for the first time and like what you read below, please go ahead and subscribe (you can do that for free and I donʻt actually put anything behind a firewall), which means you will continue to get my new writing emailed to you weekly.
